Welcome to Team Dayton
Wednesday, 31 October 2007

td_logo-150x100.jpgWelcome to Team Dayton!!!!  We are a grass roots amateur cycling team based in Southwest Ohio.  Despite the name our membership draws from areas surrounding the cities of Cincinnati and Dayton.  Our mission is to grow and develop competitive cycling in Southwest Ohio.  We are one of the largest USA Cycling licensed teams in the Mid-West with membership ~90 racers.  We cover all disciplines including Road, Track, Cross and Mountain Bike.  There are even a few triathletes and duathletes amongst us.  We are a diverse team with a women's program, junior development program, and very competitive Masters/Senior Olympics squad.  Overall our team is prominent in the region and even nationally putting up close to 100 wins and 200 podiums placings each year.

Criterium Training Update
Sunday, 29 June 2008

We will modify our criterium training format for the next several weeks.

1)  The duration and number of sprint laps will increase for the next few weeks as racers prepare for longer crits (i.e. Superweek).   On 7/1 our A race will be 70 min and B race 50 min.  For the next 2 weeks we will increase each race 10 min each week through 15 July ( "A" race 90 min, "B" race 70 min).  Sprint laps will be every 10 minutes.  Starting on 7/22 we will go back to 60 min for "A"s and 50 min for "B"s.

2)  For Team Dayton Members Only:   For July 1st and the following two weeks, we will add an additional training group, designated as "C Group."  C group would typically be newer Cat 5 men and Cat 4 women riders and juniors.  C Group will practice from 6:00 pm till 6:45 pm to reduce conflict with the A and B groups.  This will give us a chance to practice pacelines, cornering, positioning, and other skills needed to be more successful racers.  Participating with C Group does not prevent you from participating in the B Group training at 7:00 pm.  Paul Rouse, USA Cycling Coach, has agreed to lead these rides.

For more details on the training criterium.
