It might have been freezing outside but things were really cooking inside Neo Limits as we ran the third Southwest Ohio Indoor Time Trial. Thanks to your great support this was another big turnout with 56 riders taking on the 6.2 mile rolling course. And the results were truly record breaking!!

The results are posted at http://w8ds.com/ .  You can sort the results by gender, age group, by date or overall. You can also see the results of our counterpart race in Charlotte NC.

The results!!  Where should I start?  How about Jason Peterson shattering our all time record with his ride!!  The fastest time we have recorded at this event in four years was 14 min 32 seconds set way back in Jan 2007.  It is only this year that a couple of people have managed to finish in just under 15 minutes.  So what does Jason do?  He powers through the course with an average of 436 watts and sets the new event record of 13 min and 57 seconds.  I think he would have finished even faster if he hadn't dropped his Ipod early on and had to reshuffle his music.  All I can say is congratulations Jason on a stellar performance!!

But Jason wasn't the only one generating fireworks.  We had seven more people ride the course in the 15 minute bracket.  Kyle Lyman continued his pursuit of a 14 minute ride and missed it by just two seconds with a time of 15:01.  Next time it's yours, Kyle!  Shayne Dillinger has already posted a sub 15 minute ride and came in at 15:05 Sunday.  Craig Carroll put in a fantastic performance with a time of 15:17.  David Benner is steadily improving his scores and this time he recorded a 15:19.  Shane Brenner proved he is in great form with a time of 15:24.  And Burgess Gow easily made it into the 15 minute bracket with his time of 15:51.

There were more fireworks in the Junior category as Kipp Silber and Nathan Denton continued their friendly battle for the fastest time!!  This time it was Nathan who put together the winning strategy and posted his all time best of 16:56.  Kipp wasn't just coasting either as he rolled in with a time of 17:31.   If we can get these two in the same heat next time there's no telling what they'll do!!

For the women Terra Kier rode the strongest ride of the day as she averaged 235 watts to post a time of 17:35.  Other top finishers for the women included Martha Miller who had a time of 19:10, Linda Edwards with a time of 19:31, and Anne Noble with a time of 19:43.  Geanie Helfrich and Angie Bill continue to gain strength and make steady improvements to their performance.  Geanie finished at 20:45, shaving over a minute off her previous time.  Angie improved her performance by 8 seconds with her time of 22:32.  Well done girls!!

I can't thank all you great volunteers enough for the time and effort you put in to make this event so successful.  When we get a huge turnout like yesterday it really keeps the crew hopping to get six bikes unhooked and six more hooked up and calibrated and ready to race in the span of about 15 minutes.  Everybody from set-up, to sign-in, to pit crew, to data entry, to photography and clean-up made this one of the most professionally run events ever.  Please join me in thanking Dan Waite, Jeanette Shires, Stephanie Hyatt, David Hyatt, Mitzi Silber, Angie Bill, Don Bill, Jeff Waller, Mike Creech, Dale Griggs, David Benner, Linda Edwards, Chris Gustin, Cindy Smallwood, Guy Smallwood, Kipp Silber, Craig Silber, Barb Swartz, Kristin Popio, Geanie Helfrich, Sara Hickey, Al Steible, Julie Steible, Lorna Waters-Tellez and many more.  You can't present a quality event like this without a lot of dedicated, hard working volunteers like these people.  I really appreciate what they do and I hope you will give them your thanks too!  We couldn't do this without them!

Please help me thank our wonderful sponsors including Neo Limits Fitness, Roll at the Greene, Colavita Ohio Cycling Club, Rudy Project, K&G Bike Centers, Cannondale, and Hot Head Burritos.  We really appreciate everything they are doing to make this event enjoyable for the participants and successful for the JDRF.

Now, go ahead and get signed up for the next race on Feb 7th !  The start list is filling up fast and you don't want to miss the final race in the series.  The competition will be at its highest and there'll be lots of prizes.
